About
Scope
Marine and freshwater ecosystems cover the majority of our planet and support biodiversity, food security, climate regulation and human wellbeing. Marfresh Journal provides an international forum to share research results, discuss challenges and foster collaborations across disciplines — from biology, ecology and fisheries to oceanography, limnology, biotechnology and policy.
The journal is affiliated with the MarFresh Symposium, hosted by İskenderun Technical University on the eastern Mediterranean coast of Türkiye, a region of rich marine biodiversity and historic importance for the blue economy.
Objectives
- Present cutting-edge research on marine and freshwater ecosystems.
- Promote interdisciplinary and international collaborations.
- Support early-career researchers and students.
- Inform policy and sustainable management of aquatic resources.
- Strengthen regional cooperation in the Mediterranean and beyond.
History
The MarFresh Symposium series has been held since 2022, growing each edition in scientific scope and international participation, with the 2026 edition expecting over 200 participants from more than 20 countries. Marfresh Journal was established to give this growing community a permanent, peer-reviewed publication venue.
