Sustainable Urban Development: A Framework for Smart City Implementation

Abstract

This paper proposes a comprehensive framework for implementing smart city technologies in urban environments with a focus on sustainability. We analyze case studies from 15 cities worldwide and identify key success factors including stakeholder engagement, data governance, and infrastructure investment. Our framework integrates IoT sensors, renewable energy systems, and citizen participation platforms to create resilient urban ecosystems. The results show a 35% reduction in energy consumption and improved quality of life indicators.
