Sustainable Smart Cities: An IoT Architecture Framework
Abstract
The development of smart cities requires robust IoT architectures that balance functionality, scalability, and sustainability. This paper presents a comprehensive framework for sustainable smart city IoT deployments. We address energy-efficient sensor networks, edge computing strategies, and data governance models. Our framework has been validated through pilot implementations in three European cities, demonstrating a 40% reduction in energy consumption and improved citizen services.
